Start with the product inside
Tell the supplier what the pouch will hold and how it will be presented. Include the item type, dimensions, quantity and any card, insert, box or protective wrap that must fit.
If the product is not available for measurement, share a drawing, product link or clear reference image. A complete brief reduces back-and-forth and makes it easier to compare suitable pouch directions.
Use this seven-point checklist
1. Finished size
Provide the required width, height and depth where relevant. If the dimensions are not final, ask for a fit discussion instead of guessing.
2. Material direction
State whether you are considering cotton, velvet, microfiber, satin or another fabric direction. Use the materials guide to compare the decision factors.
3. Closure and construction
Describe the preferred drawstring, ribbon, snap-button, zipper or envelope direction. The closure affects fit, appearance and usable space.
4. Logo artwork
Attach the logo or provide a reference link. Mention the preferred position, artwork colors and whether you need a print, embroidery, embossing or another method to be discussed.
5. Planned quantity
Give an estimated quantity or range. Project-specific order quantity and pricing are confirmed against the final specification and order plan.
6. Destination
Provide the destination country and, when available, the delivery location. Shipping planning depends on the destination and final package details.
7. Sample requirement
State whether you need a material reference, digital mockup, physical sample or quotation first. Review the sampling and production guide for the decision sequence.
What makes a quote easier to compare?
Ask each supplier to describe the same configuration: material direction, finished size, closure, logo method, quantity, packing and destination. A low number without a clear specification may not describe the same pouch.
Before comparing terms, read the pouch pricing guide and the minimum order guide. They explain why project conditions need to be confirmed together.
Questions to include in your inquiry
- Can the pouch be made around the product dimensions?
- Which material and closure options suit the intended presentation?
- What artwork format is useful for reviewing the logo?
- Can a sample be discussed before bulk production?
- Which order quantity and delivery estimates apply to the confirmed specification?
Send the completed brief through the custom packaging inquiry form. If a field is not known, write “to be confirmed” and include the information you do have.
Frequently asked questions
What information is needed for a custom pouch quote?
Prepare the packed item, finished dimensions, material direction, closure, logo artwork, quantity, destination and sampling requirements.
Do I need a final size before requesting a quote?
A final size is helpful but not always required for an initial discussion. Share the item dimensions or a reference sample so the size direction can be reviewed.
How should I ask about MOQ and lead time?
Ask for project-specific order quantity and separate sampling, production and shipping estimates after the specification and destination are known.
