Separate a visual name from composition
Collection names help you browse, but they are not a substitute for a fabric specification. Ask for the actual fiber composition, construction and weight. A satin appearance, for example, does not by itself establish a silk composition.
Compare texture and structure
Place the same item inside each sample and look at the overall presentation. Note how the fabric drapes, how much body it has and how its texture works with your logo. Compare under consistent lighting.
Consider product contact
Explain what will touch the fabric, including polished metal, lenses or coated surfaces. Ask for suitable material options and assess them against the actual product. Do not infer scratch resistance or chemical compatibility from softness alone.
Approve a material reference
Identify the selected fabric in the order specification. Keep an approved sample and document the color reference, weight and finish. If a later order uses a different material lot, agree how matching will be checked.
