Make the brief specific enough to quote
Provide the contents, dimensions, material direction, logo, quantity and destination. Where a decision is still open, ask for options and note which assumptions have been used in the quote.
Approve the specification with the sample
Compare the sample with the brief and record any revisions. Agree the final material, size, construction, branding and packing. Make clear which sample becomes the approved production reference.
Agree checks and communication
Discuss which checks will be performed, when progress will be shared and what records you need. A general promise of quality is less useful than agreed measurement points and acceptance criteria.
Separate production time from delivery
Ask when the production clock starts and what depends on approval, materials or payment. Confirm the shipping route and destination separately. Use an agreed schedule and contingency rather than assuming a universal lead time.
